The company was established in 1986 in London by Janusz Szczerek. Since 2003 Shooting Box has been also operating from Malaga and currently provides services both in UK and Spain. The London office is based in Clarkenwell near the financial heart of the City of London and close to ITN.

Janusz Szczerek has over 25 years of experience and has worked for all major broadcasters, production companies and big corporate businesses world-wide. His camerawork includes news, documentaries, features, corporate videos, pop promos, commercials and dramas.

He was born and educated in Poland where he graduated from the Polish
Film School (PWSFTViT) in Lodz with an MA diploma in Cinematography. He started his career as a film and video artist and after moving to London in 1982 he made several avant-garde films, videos and live performances.
